HL Deb 27 July 1983 vol 443 c1611WA
Baroness Masham of Ilton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ensure that the National Spinal Injuries Centre, including that part which is housed within the Sir Ludwig Guttmann Unit for Young Disabled, receives sufficient funding to fulfil its function of treatment and care of severely paralysed patients who need somewhere to live in the long term or who need short term support.

Lord Glenarthur

Spinal injuries services, including the work in the spinal injuries centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, has been recognised as one of the services suitable for supra-regional funding, and this is being considered by the working group on supra-regional services. The young disabled unit at the hospital is not part of the spinal injuries centre.
