HL Deb 26 January 1983 vol 438 cc361-2WA
Lord Strabolgi

asked her Majesty's Government:

Whether they anticipate introducing during the present Session legislation transferring from the Scottish Office to a board of trustees the responsibility for the Royal Scottish Museum, in view of the fact that the prospective introduction of such legislation was announced in a Written Answer from the Secretary of State for Scotland on 22nd July of last year (House of Commons Debates, col. 303).

The Minister of State, Scottish Office (The Earl of Mansfield)

Consultations are continuing on the various changes proposed in the statement. Legislation will be brought forward at a convenient opportunity, but not in the current Session.
