§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the percentage of unemployment in Manchester at the latest date for which figures are available; what was the percentage among people under 25 years; how many people in the city have now been out of work for more than a year; and if he will give comparable information for the same date, or as near as possible to the same date, in each of the years 1978 to 1982.

It also gives corresponding figures for unemployed claimants—the new basis of the count—at October 1982 and January 1983.
