§ Mr. Skeetasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give, in tabular form, so much information as he has as to (a) the countries in Latin and Central America, Africa and Easterm Europe faced with growing indebtedness to international banks, and the total in each case, (b) the amount by which their annual exports exceed the cost of servicing the debt, (c) the instances in which rescheduling has been agreed and (d) the degree of involvement of British banks.
§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyne(a) Table 13 of the Bank of England Quarterly Bulletin provides data on bank lending to all countries. The growth of such debt can be ascertained by comparing earlier versions of this table with the latest version.
(b) Statistics are not available centrally in this form. However, information on the debt service ratios of developing countries is contained in table 13 of the IBRD's "World Development Report 1982", a copy of which is in the Library.
(c) Since 1 January 1980, debt restructuring agreements have been signed or are reportedly being discussed for the following countries:
