HC Deb 07 February 1983 vol 36 c269W
Mr. Benn

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what changes have been made over the last three years in the permitted levels of radioactive waste disposal into the air or the sewers in Cardiff; and why these changes were made.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The information requested about changes is not immediately available but I will write to the right hon. Member as soon as possible.

It is occasionally necessary to vary levels of radioactive discharges authorised under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960, in order to meet the changing requirements of the establishments concerned. Applications to vary authorisations are considered on their individual merits.
