HC Deb 03 February 1983 vol 36 c151W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Prime Minister if, as part of her declared policy of a balanced reduction in weapons and bases associated with nuclear war by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and Warsaw Pact forces, she will negotiate with the United States Government for the closure of the Brawdy sonar surveillance base, set up under project "Caesar" by the United States Government.

The Prime Minister

No. The oceanographic research facility at Brawdy is not relevant to the present negotiations for the reduction of nuclear weapons between the Soviet Union and the United States.
