§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take steps to increase the funding of local authority institutions offering honours degrees.
§ Mr. BrookeMy right hon. Friend is considering the advice of the national advisory body on the distribution of resources for local authority higher education in 1984–85 and will be announcing his decisions in the light of this shortly. The NAB's recommendations do not differentiate between honours degree and other students for funding purposes, but they do allow generally for the higher costs of the major institutions where degree work is concentrated.
