§ 48. Mr. Spearingasked the Minister for Trade if he will estimate the deficit in trade in manufactured goods between the United Kingdom and the rest of the European Economic Community for the year 1982 and the actual figure for the first six months of the year.
§ Mr. Peter ReesThe crude deficit on the United Kingdom's trade in manufactures with other countries of the European Community in the first six months of this year amounted to £2.4 billion; in the first three quarters it was £3.6 billion. Estimates for the rest of the year are not available. In the crude balance the valuation of imports includes insurance and transport costs not included in the export figures.
