§ 49. Mr. Rymanasked the Minister for Trade if he will ask the Director General of Fair Trading to investigate the bid by Alcan Aluminium (U.K.) Ltd. for the British Aluminium Company (Baco) Ltd. with a view to referring the bid to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
§ Dr. VaughanMy right hon. and noble Friend expects shortly to receive the director general's advice on this merger. He will then announce his decision as soon as practicable.
