§ Mr. Heddleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the annual administration costs of the Development Land Tax Office in each of the last three years.
§ Mr. Wakeham[pursuant to his reply, 11 May 1982, c. 214]: The latest estimates of these costs for the years 1979–80 to 1981–82 are:
£ million 1979–80 1.261 1980–81 1.319 1981–82 1.304
§ Mr. Heddleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of the yield from development land tax in 1980–82 was attributable to deemed disposals; and what was the yield from actual disposals.
§ Mr. Wakeham[pursuant to his reply, 11 May 1982, c. 214]: I regret that the information on which to base a more precise estimate is not readily available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. The proportion attributable to deemed disposals is probably of the order of 20 per cent.
§ Mr. Heddleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the expected total yield from development land tax in the finacial years (a) 1981–82 and (b) 1982–83.
§ Mr. Wakeham[pursuant to his reply, 11 May 1982, c. 214]: The figures are as follows:
- (a) £39 million (outturn)
- (b) £40 million (forecast)
These figures exclude net of tax benefit to local authorities, for which receipts in 1981–82 were £1.5 million.
