§ Mr. Humphrey AtkinsYes. We continue to ensure that the Turkish authorities are aware of our concern over alleged breaches of human rights and of our wish to see an early and full restoration of democratic institutions in Turkey.
§ 51. Mr. Norman Atkinsonasked the Lord Privy Seal whether agreement has been reached with other member States of the Community on the freezing of any economic or military aid promised to Turkey pending its ending of military rule and its reintroduction of democratic practice.
§ Mr. Humphrey AtkinsNo agreement has been reached between member States of the Community on the freezing of bilateral economic or military aid to Turkey. The Community has delayed implementation of its fourth financial protocol with Turkey and the disbursement of certain aid under the 1980 EC/Turkey special aid programme.
