asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many staff of the industrial training boards have been made redundant so far.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The 16 boards that are to be abolished have announced 334 redundancies to take effect before 26 February. A further 33 staff have been declared redundant by boards that are to be retained.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the progress of his plans for the industrial training boards.
