asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many administrative staff are employed by the Greater London Council.

Information is not available centrally on the numbers of local authority staff employed solely on administrative tasks. The number of non-manual staff employed by the Greater London Council, and excluding the Inner London Education Authority, at March 1982 was 16,493 full time and 231 part time.
