§ Mrs. ChalkerA recent survey of worn car tyres indicated that some older tyres can develop a degree of tread separation in service. This has not been shown to be a significant cause of accidents, and there are no plans for further research at present. I have nevertheless advised motorists that, as a matter of prudence, they should check the condition of their tyres regularly.
