Mr. DavidYoung asked the Secretary of State for Defence, further to the answer of 3 March 1980, Official Report, column 52, on allegations of brutality by members of the Armed Services; how many additional investigations have been made to date; how many representations 446W he has received on this subject from hon. Members since May 1979; and whether he will now consider taking steps to maintain a central record of cases of alleged physical assault which are dealt with at unit level without calling in the Service police.
