§ Mr. Neil Thorneasked the Attorney-General if he will review the maximum scales of payment made to those called to jury service to ensure that they do not find themselves heavily financially disadvantaged as a result of performing their public duty.
The Solicitor-GeneralThe rate of allowances for jurors is reviewed annually. The subsistence allowance has recently been increased and an increase in the financial loss allowance, which is based on the national average for earnings, will be announced shortly.
