The Solicitor-General[pursuant to his reply, 8 February 1982, c. 283]: The total sum under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection is estimated to be approximately £450,000,000.
§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Attorney-General how many new cases came within the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection in each of the last three years.
The Solicitor-General[pursuant to his reply, 8 February 1982, c. 283]: In each of the years 1979, 1980 and 1981 respectively, 4,157, 4,277 and 4,266 new cases were brought within the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.
§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Attorney-General if he will estimate the number of patients at present under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.
