§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergOver the next 15 years, our aim is that the numbers of posts in hospital training grades in dentistry, as in medicine, should be in proportion to likely career opportunities. The ratio between numbers of posts in training and in career grades varies between medical specialties and between medicine and dentistry; while to correct the present imbalance the overall numbers of consultant posts would need to double, so large an increase will not be required in dentistry.
