HC Deb 18 February 1982 vol 18 c190W
27. Mr. Alexander

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to complete his study of the proposal to increase the maximum payouts on jackpots on gaming machines in public houses from £2 to £10.

Mr. Whitelaw

This proposal, which is only one of a number concerning these machines and would require legislation, is being studied in the context of the relevant recommendations of the Royal Commission on gambling and it is too soon to be able to say when the study will be completed.
