§ Mr. Ifor Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the total number of foreign doctors who came into the United Kingdom in 1981; and how many of them were given full registration.
§ Dr. VaughanI regret figures in the form requested are not available. However, in the 12 months from 1 October 1979 to 30 September 1980 it is estimated that 1,800 civilian doctors born outside the United Kingdom and Irish Republic entered Great Britain with full or provisional registration; this figure excludes those doctors who obtained limited registration or who stayed less than a year and is subject to amendment as more information becomes available.
