asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people who urgently need hospital treatment are having to wait orie month or more for admission.

The number of urgent cases that had been waiting for more than one month on 31 March 1981, the most recent date for which figures are available, was 26,621.

Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people he estimates have been treated in hospital during the winter for broken limbs; and at what estimated cost to the National Health Service.

There is no information available to my right hon. Friend on which such estimates could be based.
