HC Deb 22 December 1982 vol 34 cc539-40W
Mr. Wardell

asked the Minister for Trade if there are any tariffs, quotas or any other trade barriers to the export of titanium from the United Kingdom to the United States of America.

Mr. Peter Rees

The export of titanium to the United States of America is currently subject to rates of customs duty ranging from nil up to 17.5 per cent, ad valorem on the free on board price. The actual duty levied is determined by the structure and composition of the product.

There are no specific quotas on the import of titanium into the United States but under the United Kingdom Export of Goods (Control) Order 1981, schedule 1, part 1, group 3h, certain titanium products may not be exported to the United States of America or any other country.
