§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to provide that, if a spouse removes a child from the country against the wishes of the other parent and against the provisions of access to the child laid down by a court, a criminal offence takes place punishable by fine, imprisonment or both.
§ Mr. MayhewNo. The courts already have powers to punish a parent who takes a child out of the country against the wishes of the other parent and in contravention of a court order.
