§ Mr. Moyle asked the Lord Privy Seal whether an official request has been made to Her Majesty's Government to participate in the Sinai peacekeeping force; and whether Her Majesty's Government have made any reply.
§ Mr. Hurd: Along with a number of other Western countries we have been asked by the United States Government to provide a contribution to the Sinai peacekeeping force. We have been discussing this request with our European partners in the light of the common European policy towards the Middle East set out in the Venice declaration. No reply has yet been made to the request but a decision is expected shortly.
