HC Deb 30 October 1981 vol 10 c480W

Mr. Montgomery asked the Prime Minister whether she is now in a position to confirm the likely distribution of work arising from the Sicartsa steel mill contract, which she reported to the House on 26 October.

The Prime Minister: On 26 October I gave a broad breakdown of the overall contract value. I regret that my information was incorrect in respect of the electrical work involved, which should be worth around£35 million. GEC expects a significant share to go to its plants in Rugby, and about 15 per cent. to plants in the Greater Manchester area—but not Trafford Park. The remainder will be distributed around a number of plants.
