§ Mr. Cant asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what response he proposes to make to the interim recommendation of the Advisory Committee on the Education and Training of Teachers that there should be an immediate one year reduction of 25 per cent. in postgraduate certificate of education courses; and whether he will regard this as a matter of urgency.
§ Sir Keith Joseph: I shall be writing within the next few days in reply to the letter I received from the chairman of the Advisory Committee on the Supply and Education of Teachers enclosing the committee's initial advice on the future size and shape of the teacher training system. Copies of my reply will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses as soon as possible.
