§ Mr. Michael Brown asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total cost to public funds of the fishing vessels temporary support scheme in 1980 and 1981.
§ Mr. Buchanan-Smith: Payments made under the fishing vessels temporary support scheme 1980 amount to £14,198,970. A few payments are still to be made under the 1981 scheme, but the total expenditure is expected to be of the order of £24.7 million.
