§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the total cost to public funds per annum of the Schools Council.
§ Dr. Boyson:In 1980–81, the Schools Council received £1,677,000 as a grant in aid from the Department of Education and Science. It also received £1,615,000 from the local authorities, paid as a deduction from rate support grant under the terms of section 56(9) of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980.
§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in the Official Report the members of the Schools Council and their respective salaries.
§ Dr. Boyson:The chairman of the Schools Council and members of its various committees are listed in the council's annual report, which is available in the Library. None receives a salary in respect of service with the Schools Council.

§ Dr. Boyson:The Schools Council's annual reports list the many reports which have been issued by the council or on its behalf. The findings of a study on the impact of 367W the council's work form an appendix to the recently published report on the review of the Schools Council by Mrs. N. K. Trenaman.
