Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will take steps to permit a member of the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association to visit at an early stage Service personnel who have lost a limb in order to assist with rehabilitation and give practical help and advice; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Wiggin:

In so far as medical and security conditions and the personal wishes of Service men allow, there are no restrictions on visiting.

Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the names and type of each ship of the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary that have been, or are intended to be, withdrawn from the active fleet in 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983, respectively.

The ships from the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary that have been, or on current plans will be, withdrawn from the active fleet in the period 1980–83, are listed below. Certain of these vessels will enter the standby squadron, where they will remain declared to NATO.
