§ Mr. John Patten:The information is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
Mr. Carter-Jones asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many cases of rubella were reported in 1980; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. John Patten:Rubella is not a notifiable disease in Northern Ireland. A campaign to improve the take-up of rubella vaccination was begun in 1979, and the information available shows that take-up increased by one-third between 1978 and 1980.
