§ Mr. Farr asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if he will give traffic flow figures on the A6 passing through Market Harborough (a) north to south and (b) south to north, for each of the last two occasions on which a census was taken, subdivided by vehicle categories;
§ (2) when was the last occasion on which his Department took a traffic census of the A6 at Market Harborough;
§ (3) when was the last occasion traffic flow problems on the A6 at Market Harborough were analysed by his Department; and with what conclusions.
§ Mr. Kenneth Clarke:Traffic counts were carried out on the A6 trunk road north of Market Harborough in May 1980 and south of the town in September 1979. The results are given below. The figures given are for vehicles per day. A further traffic count was taken in September. I will let my hon. Friend know the result when it is available.
