HC Deb 22 October 1981 vol 10 c174W

Mr. Freeson asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his reply to the right hon. Member for Brent, East on 6 July, Official Report, c. 15 if he is yet able to a statement concerning the allocation of a frequency for a Carfax service.

Mr. Whitelaw:

I am not yet in a position to make a statement. Discussions between the Government and the BBC on the question of a permanent frequency for a Carfax service are continuing, but there are particular difficulties in finding a frequency that would be both suitable for the proposed service and available under the international radio regulations on a permanent basis.
