HC Deb 19 November 1981 vol 13 cc219-20W
Mr. Lyell

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will revise the amount of rate support grants in England in 1981–82 to take account of the additional cost of the pay increase awarded to the police in September.

Mr. King

Subject to Parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit on rate support grants in England in 1981–82—Class XVIII, Vote 1—is being increased by £4,096,000 from £9,027,000,000 to £9,031,096,000. This will be reflected in the first rate support grant Supplementary Report for 1981–82, which my right hon. Friend will be laying before the House.
