§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will provide financial assistance for a predominantly rural health authority in Wales to set up an investigation into a monitoring scheme into infant deaths between the ages of one week and five years similar to that being carried out in predominantly urban South Glamorgan in order to compare conditions in rural areas.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsEach area health authority is responsible for making appropriate inquiries into deaths of young children in its area. However, there are limited funds available for worthwhile research projects and I would be prepared to consider a proposal for work in this field on its merits.
