§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will ensure that in future professional environmental health officers from the United Kingdom are involved as members of any working groups or panel of experts of the Europen Economic Community which is concerned with air, noise or water pollution or health and safety of workers.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw[pursuant to his reply, 11 June 1981]: Council working groups are restricted to officials of member Goverments. In nominating representatives to groups convened by the Commission, non-Governmental experts are included whenever appropraite. In any case, 237W Departments consult extensively with interested organisations when determining the stance to be taken by United Kingdom representatives in Community meetings.
