§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe only information available to me shows net changes in the numbers of sugar factories in each member State and was given in reply to the hon. Member for Isle of Ely (Mr. Freud) on 17 March—[Vol. 1, c.69–70]. Figures showing the total number of employees directly engaged in the sugar industry during the last three years for which such statistics are available are given below.
