HC Deb 31 July 1981 vol 9 c661W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the contract price for the Madams Bank bridge; whether there is to date any increase granted in that price in respect of work already carried out; and what the increases are in cash terms and as a percentage of the contract price.

Mr. David Mitchell

The tender price including the design costs for the Foyle bridge was £15.7 million. Price increases in respect of work carried out to the end of June 1981 amount to £340,000—that is, just over 2 per cent. of the contract price. The estimated final cost of the bridge—that is, tender price and cost variations, assuming these occur at the same rate as to date—is expected to be in the region of £20.2 million.
