§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will extend the proposed £15 per week subsidy for young people's employment offered to employers to include all young people accepted for apprenticeship for the length of their apprenticeship.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonMy right hon. Friend the Prime Minister announced on 27 July that a new subsidy scheme would be introduced whereby employers would be offered a weekly payment of £15 for all young employees under the age of 18 provided they were in their first year of work and provided their earnings were below £40 per week. I am not yet in a position to add to that, but I can assure the hon. Member that full details will be announced as soon as possible.
