asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people are at present employed under the youth opportunities scheme with businesses whose work force is not larger than 20; and if these figures show an upward trend.

I regret that this information is not available in the form requested but it is the view of the Manpower Services Commission that small businesses play a full and useful part in the success of the programme.

Mr. Alec Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what percentage of participants in youth opportunities programme schemes goes straight into employment after completing the scheme.
