Spent Nuclear Fuel (South Tyneside)

Mr. Dixon

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will specify for each month in 1979, 1980 and for 1981 to date the number of trains carrying spent nuclear fuel which passed through south Tyneside.

Operational details are entirely the responsibility of the Railways Board and not of the Government or Ministers. But I understand from British Rail that traffic of this kind does not normally pass through south Tyneside.
