HC Deb 13 July 1981 vol 8 c322W
Mr. Pawsey

asked the Secretary of State for Transport on what date Mr. Byerley, of 2 Shuckborough Crescent, Bourton, near Rugby, will receive notification from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre of the registration of a change in ownership from his brother to himself of a Honda moped, MWD 670L; and if he will give the reasons for the four-month delay which has so far occurred.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I regret to say that a strike and other industrial action since the end of April by the Civil Service unions has disrupted mail to and from the centre and brought the computers there to a standstill. Mr. Byerley will receive his registration document as soon as possible after the dispute is over. I very much regret the inconvenience to him and to many other members of the public whose documents are being delayed by the strike.
