HL Deb 06 July 1981 vol 422 cc571-2WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress is being made with the building of the National Library at St. Pancras; and what is the anticipated completion date.

The Earl of Avon

Preliminary work for the first sub-stage of the building is now in hand, and work on the site is expected to begin early in 1982. It is intended that the accommodation will come into use by the end of the decade. No decisions have yet been taken on subsequent stages of the project.

House adjourned at ten minutes before eleven o'clock.
