HC Deb 26 January 1981 vol 997 c284W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales, in the light of recent outbreaks and following veterinary advice, if he will consider the reintroduction of compulsory sheep dipping to exclude sheep scab.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

It is too early yet to say whether compulsory area dipping, with the imposition of related controls, will be necessary anywhere in the country in 1981. The position is kept under continuous review and we shall be guided, as in 1980, by the incidence of disease and the cost to public funds and resources.
