§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish the representations he has received following the publication of his document "Special Needs in Education"; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. Boyson:The Government's White Paper "Special Needs in Education" (Cmnd. 7996) has been generally welcomed. Comments received to date contain very few criticisms of the legislative proposals as such, though most respondents have expressed regret that the general economic situation does not allow additional resources to be made available for special education.
My right hon. and learned Friend does not propose to publish the representations he has received, but a list of respondents will be published shortly.
