HC Deb 27 October 1980 vol 991 cc183-4W
Mr. John Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will carry out a study into the report "Part-time Employment—Time for Recognition, Organisation and Legal Reform" and, in particular, its proposals concerning therapeutic earnings and a relxation of restraints in this respect.

Mr. Prentice:

The report has been studied in the Department and I shall be writing to the Multiple Sclerosis Society about it. I shall be pointing out that the therapeutic earnings limit is to be raised this November but that if it were to be increased disproportionately the principle under which invalidity benefit is paid would be undermined.
