HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c354W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Berwick-upon-Tweed (Mr. Beith) Official Report, 31 October, c. 381, why he does not propose to allow sentenced prisoners to wear their own clothes.

Mr. Brittan

The statutory prison rules require the provision of clothing to convicted prisoners and its wear by them unless my right hon. Friend directs otherwise. We have no plans to change the present arrangements.
