asked the Minister for the Civil Service what have been the total numbers of new civil servants employed for each month from June 1979 to October 1980, inclusive.

Monthly totals of new entrants to the non-industrial Home Civil Service up to the latest available month are given below. Where appropriate, quarterly totals have been given as they-are less prone to erratic fluctuations.
