HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 cc346-7W
Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much of the total financial allocation to Northern Ireland in the year 1980–81 was diverted from each Department subsequent to the freeze on public expenditure for the purpose of creating job opportunities.

Mr. Rossi

[pursuant to his reply, 12 November 1980, c. 254]: Reallocations were made from the following Departments:

£ million
Agriculture 1.0
Manpower Services 3.0
Environment 24.0
Education 10.0
Health and Social Services 10.0
Finance 2.0

This reallocation has made possible, inter alia, an injection of money into the energy programme and the industrial support programme.
