HC Deb 04 November 1980 vol 991 c542W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether it is common practice in psychiatric hospitals throughout Great Britain to leave deceased bodies overnight without removal to the mortuary; and if he will make a statement on the recent incident at Long Grove hospital, Epsom, Surrey.

Sir George Young

Arrangements for transferring deceased bodies to mortuaries in hospitals are a matter for local management. I understand that the difficulties which gave rise to the unfortunate incident at Long Grove hospital have now been resolved.
