§ Mr. Philip Hollandasked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the subject 558W of the last report referred to him by the National Consumer Council; when it was referred; and what action he has taken as a result.
§ Mr. EyreThe National Consumer Council is regularly consulted by Government Departments and has given its views on over 60 occasions in the last year. There has been one formal reference to the Council by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on the origin marking of imported goods. The response was received on 23 October last year and my right hon. Friend the Minister for Consumer Affairs will shortly be announcing what further steps she proposes in the light of its conclusions and of the views of other bodies consulted.
